For those of you interested, the little pen bird song device I was using is from a company called Bird Voice. I use it all the time on walks with groups etc.

Audio editor for mac that can create mp3 files - Amadeus. Audacity will also do this, but may need the Lame encoder downloaded - follow the instructions on the Audacity website here.
