I'm a canadian student working on a masters in theatre and media for development at the university of winchester. I'm in Plymouth at the moment, working on an audio recording, storytelling, and multimedia project with a group of young people.
Growing up, I was fortunate to have spent many summers camping and hiking in various parts of Canada. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for nature and the environment. I am hopeful that this workshop will help me further develop my practice as a media facilitator and inspire me to come up with creative ways to use audio recording and audio art as an invitation to young people to engage with, appreciate, and find inner stillness in the natural world.
Thought I'd run a technical question by you. I'm looking for a good-quality boundary (table-top) microphone to use for an oral history workshop. There seems to be a wide price range out there. Does anyone have any experience with these and any recommendations to make? I'd prefer an omni with an xlr connection to use with my marantz 660.
